Happy New Year!!! Well at least I made it for Chinese New Years right?! So I'm back for my monthly post (because let's face it, that's what it's come down to). Believe it or not I started writing my "last post of 2011" on December 31st. Never finished it, so then I had to revamp considering it was no longer 2011. Then I didn't finish that post which was all about Happy New Year bla, bla, bla and then yet again a couple weeks later I found myself having to start from scratch and just ended up blowing it off. BUT better late than never right. And what's worse is that one of my New Years Resolutions was to commit to posting more frequently on my blog and take more pictures...Needless to say things aren't looking so good. So I have decided to reinstate my New Years Resolution this week since I've been told that the locals usually save their resolutions for Chinese New Year. Let's see if I can redeem myself.
Anyways, this year has been busy, busy, busy so far. While in the States things tend to slow back down after the holidays and we usually get to head back to work recharged from a few days off work and some q.t. with our families I have found myself feeling quite the opposite. Unfortunately, I had no days off for work Christmas or New Years (insert pity party here). Things got yet even busier this last week because students have a few weeks off for C.N.Y. and then they take extra classes at our language school (kind of like summer camp) so I had a few extra classes and another teacher was out a couple days so even more classes to cover. But it's all good because I definitely feel like I've earned this week off. In a couple hours I'm head to the airport because I'm going to Hong Kong for a few days and I'm super excited to get out of Taiwan for a bit! :) It'll be a brief trip but I got the tickets pretty late and traveling during C.N.Y. is basically like trying to get a flight in Christmas so flights and hotels are pretty pricey and almost overbooked.
Below are a couple pics from New Years when I went shopping Taipei with some friends from work. My internet is being really shady so I'm afraid that's all for now. Good news is I'll be back this week with lots of pictures from Hong Kong!
So until then Zàijiàn and Xīn Nián Kuài Lè !!! Goodbye and Happy New Year!
